“The Otter Family” was conceived to play on the name of the Little Rock community of Otter Creek. Otter Creek is a bedroom community of young families, creeks, woods, and homes in a natural setting. The Oley E. Rooker Library is one of the pillars of the community and center of activity. It resides just outside the plate glass window in the children’s book section and can also be enjoyed by the cars passing by on busy 5-lane Stagecoach Road (Hwy 5).
“Yellow Pipe Dream” is a unique creation from a large series called “Pipe Dreams.” The sculpture was purchased by the City of Little Rock and installed in River Front Park along the Arkansas River promenade.
The sculpture design was first conceived and created by Maritza designing 30 pipe maquettes. Ten designs were selected and three were constructed. The sculptures were then computerized, patterns were made and pipe was cut and edges sanded. The pipe sections were then fabricated based on the maquettes and powder coated.
